Our client is located in the town of Lime Acres which is situated 160km north west of Kimberley and 109km south of Kuruman in the Northern Cape

Job Description: Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants who will co-ordinate, recommend, design and plan the Environmental Engineering and Occupational Hygiene Operations for the Diamond Mine.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Head up the Occupational Hygiene Department and co-ordinate and recommend occupational hygiene and ventilation activities for the Mine ?
Monitor compliance in conjunction with the requirements of relevant statutory legislation and applicable occupational hygiene and ventilation programmes
Implement and maintain occupational hygiene and ventilation initiatives and programmes
Effectively and accurately plan and implement the ventilation requirements for the mine
Ensure inspections and reports are conducted on all matters concerning occupational hygiene / ventilation
Investigate all occupational hygiene / ventilation incidents ?
Assist in internal/external audits ?
Liaise with legislative bodies and interested / affected parties

Minimum Requirements:

Advanced Chamber of Mines Certificate in Mine Environmental Control. This qualification is non-negotiable for this position, as it is a legal requirement.
Grade 12
At least five years’ experience as a Senior Occupational Hygiene Officer (CU) in Mine Environmental Control ?

Computer literate – MS Office
Working knowledge of the MH&SA, OHS Act, Ventilation and Hygiene regulations – please indicate on CV ?
