Highly reputable firm of Consulting Engineers is looking for a OHTE (Overhead Track Electrification) Engineer/Technologist to join their Johannesburg office. Minimum Requirements • BSc/Btech degree required. • Pr Eng or Pr Tech required. • Previous rail experience essential Duties will incude designing of power supply for trains. Will be responsible for the renewal and enhancement of 750v DC traction infrastructure. The candidate must be familiar with working on switchgear renewal projects and must have knowledge with the infrastructure used to deliver power to trains from the National Grid and have strong knowledge of HV and 750V DC switchgear, cables, traction transformer and rectifier equipment. In addition, familiarity with conductor rail and traction return via the running rails would be advantageous. Suitable candidate should have strong communication skills in order to liaise with contractors, suppliers and internal staff to ensure projects are delivered on time.
