One of South Africa’s leading companies in the Media and Entertainment space is on the lookout for a dynamic new online Production Manager.

They need someone who is eager to grow and evolve their digital platforms, as well as conceptualise and create new online content strategy in the fast-paced ever changing digital space.

As the Production Manager, you will report to the Managing Editor and you will have a number of people reporting to you.

You’ll make friends with other divisions and you’ll work closely with external suppliers and key departments who set strategy and provide campaigns, content and services.

As well as the users who consume this content on a daily basis. Feedback on their user journey through the digital platforms is vital.

Job Description
•Work closely with the teams to ensure that content discovery, retention and acquisition campaigns, as well as supporting content, is published to a specified deadline and all expectations are met.
•Ensure that campaigns have an appropriate digital destination for all regions.
•Actively push for digital assets and delivery from various business units and departments, and follow through on implementation that aligns with the broader business objective.
•Report regularly on the performance of the various teams, and provide strategic insight and direction to the business.
•Assess all requirements; identify internal and external service providers.
•Brief in new processes and developments, create deadlines and follow through with implementation.
•Arrange regular meetings to review progress and identify additional requirements.
•Teamwork and remote management is required, which means you’ll need to work strategically in order to achieve your objectives. You will also need to prioritise, scope and plan your deliverables.

Managing outputs and expectations is a massive part of your job. The relationships you’ll form and nurture in the business will challenge you constantly. Providing answers quickly, and making good decisions under pressure is definitely a requirement. You will need to focus, stick to your guns and remain creative all at the same time.

Exceptional organisational skills are crucial with experience of running online work streams, driving forward KPI’s and initiatives.

Education and Experience
•Relevant qualification
•Experience within a digital Production Manager role
•Knowledge of TV and viewing habits across the continent
•Understanding of the digital television market
•Understanding of the digital content space with particular relevance to Africa
•Good command of both written and verbal English
