Our client in requires the service of an Operations Manager to appoint a dynamic, energetic goal driven manager to implement and maintain operational activities.

Key performance areas:

? Provide a strategic leadership function in terms of developing and maintain operational activities for the company
? Provide expertise in the areas of financial management and corporate governance to the Board
? Identify government policies, strategies and incentive applicable to the sector
? Analyse industry trends, information and statistics and review overall development situation and performance
? Build consensus and collaboration among strategic programmatic partners
? Keep close contacts with similar industries and stakeholders to follow market developments and trends.
? Provide leadership in terms of a strong transformational objectives relating to BBBEE objectives
? Initiate a marketing plan and material including the updating of the website
? Develop and implement strategies to encourage statutory measure participation
? Ensure best practices are incorporated in the development of programmes and projects supporting the olive industry
? Draft a research and development plan in accordance with regional needs

The successful candidate must have:

? Must have Matric with a degree in Economics
? 3 – 5 years experience in the agricultural industry
? Ability to demonstrate relevant management experience
? Ability to network at the highest levels with the private and public sectors
? Good financial / economic understanding
? Proven leadership skills, a team player and able to work on own initiative
? A passion for the horticultural industry and innovation with an understanding of the commercial environment
? Excellent written & verbal communication skills
? Must be bilingual – English and Afrikaans
? Computer literacy (MS Office)
? Excellent interpersonal skills
