Our client requires the services of a suitably qualified, well-motivated and results driven Operations Manager – Animal Feeds to be appointed in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal.
Main Purpose of Job
To ensure that the operating profit of the business unit complies with the required return on assets.


Key Performance Areas
• Production planning and plant scheduling
• Control of mixing instructions, documentation and batch reports
• Manage and control production procedures
• FIFO on raw materials and finished product
• Control production to product specification and standards
• Manage reworks and adhere to procedures
• Manage downtime through a preventive maintenance program
• Contribution towards BBB-EE score card
• Manage Industrial relations
• Skills development and Retention
• Daily production reporting against budget
• Apply health and safety standards and regulations
• Adhere to ISO and GMP procedures
• Manage, implement and maintain quality systems

Required Qualifications / Experience
• Relevant Tertiary degree or Technical Qualification
• Minimum of 5 Years’ managerial experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in production processes and planning
• Industrial Relations knowledge
• Mechanically Orientated
• Computer literacy
• ISO and OHS knowledge
• Planning and organizing skills
• Leadership qualities
