Our client, a leading company in the medical devises field, has a vacancy in the Orthopaedic Trauma field for a Sales Representative based in Cape Town

Job Title: Orthopaedic Sales Representative
Division: Orthopaedics – Trauma & Wound Drainage

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Sales Representative will be primarily responsible for preparing for all aspects of the sales accountabilities, representing the company as a leader in the industry and the marketplace by promoting our products to the target market comprised of surgeons and healthcare professionals.

This will be achieved by meeting sales targets and increasing sales through assisting existing customers and building new accounts as well as identify new customers in order to grow their territory. The candidate will be responsible for communicating with current and new customer accounts regarding a variety of topics including product updates, changes to product portfolio and educational programs.

This Sales person will learn or hone selling skills and processes by coaching/mentoring support from Sales Representatives and Managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work in conjunction with sales teams (both regional and national).
• Callback customers as required to identify sales opportunities and customer service activities.
• Identifies the needs of new prospects and develop the appropriate responses to queries.
• Assist in theatre as and when required by healthcare professionals.
• Assists in developing responses to requests for Quotes and in creating proposal presentations.
• Performs field calls for the account and assigned territory.
• Schedule appointments to present company product offerings.
• Implement new sales plans and effective marketing strategies to position the organization competitively.
• Meeting and exceeding business targets (quotas).
• To provide forecasts and market research information to divisional management as and when required.
• Acquires a basic understanding of the field to include regulatory compliance issues.
• Consistently supports compliance and the principles of responsibility (SAMED) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements, and Company’s policies and procedures .
• Assist in the resolution of any problems that arise on the account.
• Maintain training in sales skills and products.
• Remains current and up to date on industry, customer, and competitive trends.
• Participates and attends sales meetings and professional association meetings outside of regular business hours, as required.
• Completes the Sales Associate training program consisting of Employee Orientation, Center Training, Product Knowledge and Field Territory Training.

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years experience in the Orthopaedic/Medical Devices Field
Excellent organizational skills
Experience in building and maintaining relationships (with ortho surgeons & hospitals in respective areas would be essential).
Must be comfortable in emergency/operating room environments

Education : BS/BA in relevant field preferred or equivalent experience
Occassional national travel is required.

Basic Requirements: Drivers License and own transportation
Willingness to work ‘on call’ hours during weekends and at night.

Remuneration: Negotiable, based on previous experience.
CTC will be inclusive of petrol, medical aid contribution, and provident fund.
