Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a Pastry Chef De Partie for a fantastic 5* Lodge based in the picturesque Northern regions of the Kruger National Park. Within this role you will be fully responsible for the preparation of pastry items to set standards and carrying out assigned kitchen duties as required. You will report directly to the Head Chef in the Kitchen.The pastry chef is there to ensure that the pastry section produces the necessary breads, croissants, Danish pastries, ice creams, sorbets, cakes, biscuits and deserts integral to the daily menus and essential to the guest dining experience. These should be produced and presented to the standard expected by the guests of a world-class establishment.Key Performance areas include:Effective daily management of the pastry kitchenProduce new and innovative ideas for enhancing the guest experience and to complement the work done by the other sections of the kitchenCreate and maintain a set of recipes which should be used to produce Pastry section items on a continuous basisTimeously and accurately order necessary ingredients to enable the section to produce the required itemsEnsure that the Pastry section contributes to ability of the kitchen as a whole to operate within budget, with minimal wastage and costs.Communication with kitchen and lodge front of house staff to ensure the smooth running of the departmentTraining and Development in terms of kitchen skillsAchieving service excellence though TeamworkTo be considered you will need to tick the following boxes:A minimum of 6 year’s work experience – ideally 3 as a trainee and 3 in a well recognized establishmentA passion for pastryA co-operative and hardworking natureCreativity and willingness to be innovativeReliabilityOrganizational abilityStrong attention to detailLeadership skillsThe Package for this role includes a CTC salary between R8,500 and R10,500, this will include onsite accommodation in the form of an en-suite room, full access to staff facilities including bar, gym, pool, tv room and more!
