Location: Somerset West, Western Cape

Description: A testing laboratory is looking for a Pest and Disease Specialist to join their team.Duties will include but is not limited to: using knowledge of insect physiology and plant pathology to research disease models and incorporate in Meteorology software; translate and interpret various disease models; expand current software capabilities with regards to disease models; give advice on management of diseases. Time will be spent in workshop (70%) and in the field (30%)

Key Requirements: Qualification in Entomology, Plant pathology or Meteorology. Knowledge of insect physiology and plant pathology. Computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook). Valid Driver’s license and own transport. Only South African citizens currently residing in the Helderberg area should apply.

Additional Requirements: Logical and analytical thinking. Fault finding skills. Communication/social skills. Enthusiastic, Self-motivated, Self-driven. In good health. Presentable and capable of working with clients. Working hours: 08h00 to 17h00.

Remuneration: R15 000 - R20 000
