Pharmacist assistant assists the drug utilisation pharmacist manage the financial and clinical risk of contracted medical schemes implementing the policies, protocols and formularies for reimbursement for medicines. The Pharmacist assistant will authorise medicines for chronic benefit through the application of formularies and protocols.

Experience and qualifications
• The incumbent is expected to fulfil the following criteria:
• Pharmacist assistant qualification
• Registered with SA Pharmacy Council
• Experience in medicine management an advantage
• Experience and knowledge of other Chronic diseases an advantage.
• Experience and knowledge of the medical scheme environment an advantage.
• Experience and knowledge of the medical schemes legislation particularly pertaining to PMBs an advantage.
