Strategic Managed Care (SMC) Pharmacist is responsible for a spectrum of these activities in the SMC which may vary from time to. These responsibilities will include Protocol AND Policies reviews, clinical Protocol development ensuring Managed Care organisation are in line with evidence based medicine, analysing medicine usage statistics.

Experience and qualifications required
• The candidate must be a registered with the South African Pharmacy Council
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing clinical rules for medicinere-imbursement,formulary development and drug utilisation review, protocol development
• A good understanding of the Pharmacy Practice, the Medical Schemes Act (Act101)
• Analytical and administrative skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to conduct research using a variety of academic and market-related resources
