Our client in the Richards Bay area requires a Planning and Development Manager. The appointee will render support to the Chief Operations Officer in identifying new business opportunities, undertaking planning and evaluating business plans by using sound judgement, initiative and technical expertise

BSc. Engineering degree (preferably Civil/Agricultural) or BTech degree (Civil) appropriate to water engineering.
Registration with ECSA as Professional Engineer or Technologist.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a water engineering project and planning environment.
Experience in planning and implementation of local and regional water supply and sanitation schemes.
Knowledge of potable and wastewater treatment.
A strong background in asset management and refurbishment scheduling.
Proficient in the simultaneous planning of large and small engineering projects.
Computer literacy in MS Office, MS Projects, GIS and CAD.
Management, negotiation and conflict resolution Skills.
Excellent report writing skills.

Planning and development of new business.
Identifying and evaluating expansion opportunities.
High level planning of potential schemes.
Preparing business plans, project proposals and funding applications.
Progress reporting and team leadership.
Defining scope of works.
Consultant appointment and liaison.
Ensuring GIS and related resources are maintained.
Risk assessments and contingency planning.
Asset management.
