Qualifications / Job Requirements:
? Electrical Technitian and/or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Power Engineering with two or more
years of experience in the mining sector and/or with captive diesel power stations.
? Ability to work three to four days a week on-site near Thabazimbi in Limpopo Province at the Chronimet chrome
mine where the PV/Diesel hybrid power system is located.

Job Description:
? Responsible for Operation & Maintenance of PV – Diesel Hybrid Systems at Thabazimbi Mine
? Supporting and coordinating power system desicions on site at the Thabazimbi Mine.
? Design support of LV/MV substations and AC distribution systems with local contractor for future PV/Disel Hybrid
projects
? Preparation and evaluation of technical plans and documentation for both existing PV/Disel Hybrid power system at
Thabazimbi and for future projects for external mining sector clients
? Identification and evaluation of vendors and subcontractors required for existing and future projects.
? Preparation of permit applications, (eg Eskom ); bills of material, O&M procedures, safety plans.

Skills Required
? Knowledge of AutoCAD and able to draft electrical diagrams, layouts, etc using the digital tool set.
? Understanding of contract condition articles related to diesel system design and South African power system
installations, etc;
? Design documentation and implementing required changes as per the site conditions;
? Maximize power generation from a utility scale solar power plant through simulating wire sizing and various other
installation and plant and equipment optimization;
? Must demonstrate strong engineering and communication skills and an ability to work in a dynamic team
environment.
? Must be able to balace multiple projects while working under tight deadlines

Other Skills Preferred
? Experience in project scheduling and procurment
? Software skills – MS Projects, Power point, Excel, PVSyst, Geomodel, Meteonorm, Power Factory etc.
