Safari JOBS is searching for a Travel Expert for one of our premier clients whom have their own private collection of 5* properties within the borders of South Africa. This position would be based at the head office in Johannesburg and is the ideal opportunity for someone who would love to work in a family type environment with a wonderful, friendly team.The Travel Expert would be required to timeously arrange and facilitate comprehensive tour packages for guests visiting Southern Africa. This would include the compilation of tailor made, often complex itineraries including flights, transfers and accommodation with portfolios properties, as well as third parties, ensuring excellent service is always provided to clients with the focus being a profitable department and becoming a reputable agency. KNOWLEDGE / MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Grade 12Diploma in Tourism or Hospitality (advantageous)3-5 years’ experience in a similar role - preferably with a Tour operatorOpera Enterprise Solutions (advantageous)Hospitality/ Tourism experience SKILLS REQUIRED:Service excellence; Courteous & friendly; ProfessionalAccurate, organized & deadline driven; Hands on ApproachWell-spoken with particular emphasis on EnglishComputer & numeracy proficiencyProblem solving skills DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:Current & new property knowledge as well as pricing & special.An expert knowledge of the GDS & Opera systems in order to facilitate the booking of accommodation, car hire, flights, transfers etc.Ensure the accurate recording of each reservation according to the company standards including the email / telephonic communication with guests.Remain mindful of rate parity within the marketplace.Accurate reporting of reservations, revenue & amendments.
