We need a qualified artisan or a 3 year Mechanical engineering National Diploma /relevant Metallurgy engineering qualification or a formal Chemical Engineering qualification as we require specialised experience in Chrome plating (plating and surface finishing) and heat treatment ( perhaps 5 years’ experience plus a formal qualification). MS office plus MS projects essential experience. Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products or production engineering by performing the following duties: Supports production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Supports operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications. Reviews manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization as well as to ensure that safety standards are met. Liaison with suppliers to ensure best products are used to ensure cost down savings for consumables yet ensuring quality standards are achieved. Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. Development of process flows and PFMEA’s and develop improvements to existing production process.
