Global operational company with expertise across industrial hazardous and non-hazardous wastes enables them to develop an industry-specific waste management plan and implement the most optimal waste management solution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Functioning as part of a team under guidance from a subject matter expert for Water, Waste and Energy, including interacting with mechanical, draughting, civil, electrical, control and instrumentation engineering disciplines.
Interpretation & Implementation of Client Requirements and Specifications Process design development through careful selection of process treatment technologies based on the Company design guidelines and good engineering practice.
Providing cost-effective solutions whilst ensuring technical compliance with client requirements.
Preparation of an engineering design package for tenders and or projects, including Process Flow Diagrams, Design Calculations, Mass & Energy Balances, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Equipment Schedules, Process Datasheets etc.
Represent the company during meetings with potential customers, vendors and subcontractors
Participating in HAZOP/HAZAN studies, value engineering exercises and design reviews with internal /external clients.
Preparation of all process-related Design Study documentation
Preparation of Technical Specifications of equipment for Requests for Quotations and Purchase Orders
To arrange and coordinate any supplementary requirements from external consultants, vendors or subcontractors
Technical evaluation of vendor proposals and recommendations
Discuss technical clarifications with the client
Preparation of Performance Test Procedure, Commissioning Plan and Operating and Maintenance Manuals.
On-site construction verification, punching and sign-off
Commissioning, including documentation preparation, pre-commissioning, cold and hot commissioning activities and troubleshooting.
Performance testing and reporting.
Operator training and compilation of training manuals
Keep up to date with the latest technologies, design tools & guidelines and developments inside the Company, in the water treatment field and from local / international suppliers
To check, upon request, the work of process engineering colleagues in the department
To direct investigations into problem areas arising with work in the office and at site and to endorse solutions
To ensure the implementation of company standards and develop and maintain a reliable engineering base
To ensure the application and maintenance of departmental systems and procedures
Writing of technical reports

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Sc. or B.Eng. (Chemical) Degree
ECSA Registration as a Candidate Engineer would be an advantage
Three to Five years’ experience as a process engineer in water treatment, turnkey projects or a similar field
Communication and Organizational skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Computer Literacy (Google Workspace and MS Office) and related tools required
