Requirements of the role:

Minimum of Matric; Qualification in Supply Chain Management will be advantageous.
Proven experience in procurement in chemical/agrochemical industry is essential.
Solid working knowledge and understanding of chemical industry supply chain market and supply chain dynamics.
Proven experience with global sourcing, managing import logistics and cost determination and analysis.
Strong analytical and negotiating skills.
Self motivated.
Good IT skills (Microsoft Office, ERP and stock management systems)
Good communication skills.
Clear Credit and Criminal Check
General Description of role:

The Procurement Manager manages the company’s supply of products and services globally. Responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers and to identify and pursue cost saving opportunities.

Duties of the Procurement manager include:

Oversee and co-ordinate all local and global company procurement activities including all logistics aspects.
Adhere to company authorization policies for all procurement.
Actively participate in development of company procurement strategy and implementation of the same.
Actively identify opportunities for cost savings and plan and implement the same.
Negotiate prices and establish supply agreements where appropriate.
Maintain approved supplier list in line with company policy.
Maintain MRP data in Syspro.
Maintain accurate and up to date in store cost price listing at all times for all raw and packaging materials.
Liaise pro-actively with sales to manage fluctuations in costs and assist with impact assessment of the same prior to order confirmation.
Implement company exchange rate risk management policy and actively advise company on current exchange rate related risks and opportunities.
Proactively manage excess stock levels.
