Group Procurement Manager (R45 000 to 50 000 Basic plus benefits)
based in JHB North

Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of purchasing materials, products, and services as well as identify and develop suppliers where required for the companies, interfacing with their Global Procurement structures to define and align sourcing strategies, focusing on cost reduction and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and maintain the corporate procurement policies
Oversee the procurement of services and goods, including but not limited to materials, equipment, telecom/IT, facilities, vehicles, insurance, rentals, construction, maintenance, travel and logistics.
Develop and maintain a Business Risk Mapping and manage local and global Insurance Policies
Be actively involved in supplier and sub-contractor identification, setting up of supplier agreements, assisting with supplier development, pricing negotiations and discount structures
Manage B-BBEE Preferential Procurement requirements
Manage local and global insurance policies, interacting with Global Insurance and Risk Management teams
Monitor supplier quality and performance
Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, services, products or substitute materials.
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
Administer on-line purchasing systems.
Arrange for disposal of surplus materials (scrap, donations, etc.)
Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
Manage purchasing information and systems as well as purchasing services
Manage purchasing staff, managing suppliers, relationships, SLA's (service level agreements) according to the Group policies and procedures.
Control the department budgets (expenses, personnel and investments).
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Matric, MCSE, A+, N+
5+ years of experience in managing Supply Chain processes and multifunctional teams, with ability to lead different teams located at different operational sites.
Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Syspro or SAP, mainly on the Supply Chain functionalities.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with all aspects of a complex business environment, including sales and distribution, supply chain, manufacturing, project management and finance
Experience in interpreting the applicability of local and federal laws/regulations to company operations.
Hands-on experience on purchasing activities, supplier sourcing and development, procurement planning and execution
