Product Manager - Slurry OE, Johannesburg - Ref: 1027991-2

Our client is a leading supplier of slurry handling equipment. Their wide range of slurry equipment solutions includes, but is not limited to: pumps/valves/wear-resistant linings/hydro-cyclones/centrifuges.

The Product Manager - Slurry OE must have professional communications skills on all levels, be able to analyse and interpret technical journals and financial reports as well as legal documents. In addition, you must be able to demonstrate a strong technical understanding, together with an ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and permutations.

Position details:

Job description / core competencies: Set strategy and targets for the product portfolio.
Provide leadership and direction to achieve the strategy.
Investigate and develop opportunities for existing products, new products, new markets, expansion of current markets and other business opportunities.
Trend-spotting, research and customer segmentation, competitive intelligence, competitive strategies, branding, pricing, product planning and implementation, new product projects, product management, marketing plans, managing customer demands, product training and building brand equity..
Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily development / engineering and marketing communications) through market requirements, products contracts and positioning.
Project tendering and support.
Market intelligence on competitor within the product portfolio.
Product training internal and external.
Plant audits, support in conducting audits and ensuring a high level of professionalism in resultant reports.
Drive mill circuit audit, targeted testing and replacement programs.
Ensure efficient cost management across all areas of the department.
Ensure adherence to limits of authority for all subordinates.
Provide technical and marketing information and reports as required.
Adhere to HSE and housekeeping requirements at the branch and customer sites.
Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (mechanical / industrial / metallurgical / chemical)
Valid Driver’s Licence
Registered as professional with ECSA
Active member of Industry Recognised Bodies, i.e. SAIMM, SACPS, SAIMechE, IOM, RASA
Minimum Experience:
10-12 years related experience.
Microsoft (Excel / Word / PowerPoint); ERP Software; Q-Pulse; E-Curves / In-house selection packages; Access.
