An IT company based in Umhlanga is seeking a Portfolio Product Manager to:

Lead multiple teams and execute the Product portfolio objectives

Aligns multiple strategies with portfolio objectives

Responsible for vision, value realisation & ROI of group of products relative to portfolio

The purpose of the job:

This position is responsible for creating a strategic vision, objectives, value realization & extracting a return on investment (ROI) from a group of products relative and aligned too multiple strategies with portfolio objectives by leading multiple teams.

Technical responsibilities:

Maintains in depth product(s) and technical knowledge as well as general product group knowledge

Ensures that the team members are equipped with the requisite skill set required for both current and future projects by developing a training and career development plan for each team member

Create, Agree and Execute product, technical and operational strategy for Products / Markets / Customers / Services in collaboration with technical teams through proper documentation, communication and execution.

Build Effective Customer Centric Relationships through Market/Service/Customer maps, measurements of performance, usage and benchmarking, engagement and involvement with customers, creating clear visibility through strategies and roadmaps and lastly effective utilization of products and services relative to benchmarks.

Sets and achieves efficiency and delivery objectives of their team by ensuring individual and team strategy and objectives are clear, measurable and aligned to the Platform.

Hold team accountable through roadmaps, individual performance contacts through consistent communication of delivery milestones.

Accountable for articulating, monitoring, reporting and achieving ROI targets.

Collaboratively works with team members to set performance goals and measures

Teams are appropriately skilled and resourced

Ensures that established procedures and processes are accurately and carefully followed

Sets and achieves efficiency objectives of their teams

Sets and achieves delivery objectives

Provides mentoring and coaching

Facilitates change management due to changing situational/organizational/market requirements

Focuses and guides team in accomplishing work objectives

Strategic training and skills development planning

Directly manages multiple Product/Market/Customer/Service owners and shared services teams

Creation, reporting and analysis of Product/Market/Customer/Service ROI Figures relative to agreed measures

Effective use of team/departments budgets

Accountable for Achieving ROI targets

Create, Agree and Execute product, technical and operational strategy for Products / Markets / Customers / Services

Alignment with formalised Guilds and/or boards and standards across business/platform

Identifies and ensures that efficient processes and procedures are in place to meet objectives

Issues - resolution and communications

Proactive engagement with customers regarding Performance, Benchmarks and usage

Qualifications and Experience:

7+ years + experience in software development in complex, high performance software environments.

3+ years Leadership experience within software development

Proven track record of results

Analysis, ROI, Budgeting experience

Proven results engaging customers at executive level and senior management levels

Strategy formulization and execution

Influencing others by creating a participative, empowered environment

Commercial Experience in business management

Understanding of Software Development Methodologies

Managing and Coaching others

Required education:
