Primary purpose of the position

To lead the Organization and take overall responsibility for ensuring that the organization achieves its intended impact and mobilizes the resources needed for its work.

As Project General Manager for the Organization you will:

* Report directly to the CEO and work closely with him/her to develop, implement and review strategies to help the Organization realize its social objectives.
* Not only lead the Organization but also play a leadership role inside the Organization.
* Take ultimate responsibility for the strategic and programming decisions in the Organization and the impact thereof.
* Build the Organization’s public profile and partnerships.

Ideally you MUST have:

* Passion for and skills to drive innovative social change processes.
* A relevant tertiary qualification or a combination of relevant experience and education.
* 5 or more years’ experience at the head of an organization (NPO) or as a senior manager.
* Experience managing a social enterprise and/or a non-profit organization (NPO) and/or a substantial program within an NPO.
* Experience in operations management, financial management and risk management
* Experience liaising with Board members
* Experience in direct management and supervision of people.

Other skills and requirements

* Knowledge of fundraising and corporate social investment.
* A valid Code EB (08) drivers license and own vehicle
* Computer literacy: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
* MDA computer software (advantageous)
* Fluent in English and Xhosa and or any other languages
* This is an office-based work environment that will require frequent travel.
