BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB PURPOSE:

To provide the necessary support to the organisation in planning, scheduling and Managing Projects.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12
Technical Tertiary Qualification, 4 year Degree/Diploma/ Certificate in a related engineering discipline.
PMP Certification or working towards one, an added advantage.
2-5 years relevant experience.

Experience:
At least Two years’ experience as a Project Manager/ coordinator or a related engineering supervisory position with a proven track record in project management

Competencies:
• Thorough knowledge of the Project management process
• Knowledge of HACCP
• Understanding of FSCC22000 food safety standards
• Computer literacy and knowledge of AUTOCAD and MS Projects software
• Methodical and inspirational leadership
• Analytical thinking and Attention to detail

• Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
• Customer focus and responsiveness
• Persuasive Communication and negotiating skills
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

1. Project Planning, scheduling and Management.
2. Manage project budgets competently

4. Pay attention to detail.
5. Conduct risk assessments for all project related Tasks
6. Contractor management
7. General duties related to position

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE:

• Co-ordinate all engineering Capex projects in order to ensure the achievement of the strategic growth objectives of the plant
• Investigate, compile in line with strategic objectives, and manage capex projects to ensure completion on time to required specifications and standards.
• Project Management functions
a. Process design and Lay-out for project
b. Planning and defining project scope
c. Developing project budget and Cost Estimates
d. Capex preparation and submission
e. Tendering
f. Documentation
g. Resource planning
h. Project risk analysis and management, ensuring all safety procedures and lockouts are followed for all project related tasks.
• Facilitate implementation of total quality management
• Contractor management
• Project Weekly/bi-weekly report and monthly cost report
• Keeping track of actual and projected cost
• Make available appropriate engineering SOPs, drawings, technical specifications and literature related to projects upon completion/ handover.
• Ensure all contractors have relevant documentation.
• Works in liaison with the buying and stores team to ensure availability of spares for all project work.
