A company based in Stellenbosch is looking for a Python Software Engineer to add to their team on a permanent basis


Responsiblities will include:

• Develop a software ecosystem of tools and reusable components to support the storage, processing and analysis of data locally and on the cloud.
• Work closely with data science teams to build scalable and cost-efficient algorithms to process vast amounts of data and deliver business value.
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Enhance continuous integration and testing processes

Qualifications and Personal Attributes:

• Honours degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related from a reputable university
• 5+ years’ experience

Technological Requirements:

• 5+ Years professional experience using a mainstream object-oriented or functional language.
• Good communication skills required.
• Willingness and ability to learn, solve problems quickly and automate processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience developing in Python.
• Experience using Amazon Web Services.
• Knowledge of reactive systems and working with data streams.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems.
• Proficient in Git.
