A well established mine is currently recruiting for a Qualified Boilermaker (2 year Fixed Term Contract) In the Pretoria area

Position Purpose:

The successful candidate will be required to develop, fabricate and maintain equipment according to sound engineering practices and equipment specifications in their area of responsibility (Ground Handling – Mining)

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Qualified Plater / Boilermaker Trade Certificate through a recognised Institution and Apprenticeship
  • 2 years post Apprenticeship experience
  • Experience in a Mining environment
  • Valid Drivers’ License

 

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery according to maintenance requirements
  • Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations, manufacturing and Company standards
  • Perform maintenance repairs, fabrication and installation work on all assigned equipment
  • Report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the foreman
  • Develop, modify, construct and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipment
  • Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedure
  • Communicate with clients and supervisors to inform on maintenance activities performed and re-start of equipment
  • Create and maintain job cards
  • Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence and compliance to Security and Company’s SHE objectives
  • Work overtime, standby and be available for call-outs should the need arise
