A well established mine is currently recruiting for a Qualified Fitter In the Northern Cape area

Purpose of the position:

The successful candidate will be required to perform service maintenance and repairs on equipment/

machinery according to sound engineering practices and equipment specifications

Must have the following minimum requirements;

• Grade 12/N3
• Qualified Fitter with Trade Test Certificate at recognized /accredited institution
• 3-5 years post qualification experience as a Fitter
• Experience as a Fitter in a Processing Plant – please indicate clearly on your CV
• Valid drivers’ license

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Perform inspections in accordance with Mine Health and Safety Act and OEM specifications
• Ensure that all equipment complies with legislation and to Mine standards
• Report defects and breakdowns to foreman
• Repair equipment and machinery according to maintenance standard
• Communicate with clients and supervisors to inform on maintenance activities and equipment availability
• Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedure
• Develop, improve, construct and install related equipment to ensure safe operation
• Maintain Plant machinery and equipment
• Maintain and create job cards for unscheduled maintenance
• Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done
• Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence and compliance to Security and Company’s SHE objectives
• Supervise Engineering Aides
