This company, one of the largest salt producers in Southern Africa and for over 40 years have supplied salt to various industries throughout Africa with a wide range of products are sent from Brandvlei, Prieska, Upington and Namibia.

The following temporary position is available in Upington from September 2019.

QUALITY CONTROL ANALYST
UPINGTON

Requirements:
- Appropriate degree in Laboratory technology with at least 3 years experience
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good communication and people skills

Duties will include:
- Receive samples from various salt pans
- Take physical samples [twice a day] from Work in Progress
- Receive samples from fine packaging
- Analyse Brandvlei samples and compile COA
- Check the following via titration:
- Sodium chloride purities
- Iodine content
- Moisture content
- Administration of QC:
- A laboratory sheet with: Number, Content, Outcome
- Manage all customer queries
- Manage client queries produce COAs for them
- Manage audits and audit queries
- Responsible for Health & Safety as well as Food Safety
- Manage pest control and hygiene
- In the afternoon answer emails and get production sheets ready for the next day
- Responsible for administration of Chep pallets
- Deal with queries from sales force and provide specification sheets for them
- Manage samples
- Adhere to non-compliance procedures
- Purchase all lab consumables
- Purchase cleaning chemicals
- Ensure scale validation
