Quantity Surveyor & Estimator - Bituminous Sales (Cape Town)

The position:

The above position is now available in Cape Town.
The successful incumbent will be experienced in calculating accurate quotes/prices on surfacing projects related to bituminous binder jobs, slurry, colrub, etc. Furthermore the individual will be a sales minded person, with excellent customer liaison skills and initiative adding value to the Commercial department by recognising opportunities for new business in communications with customers.

Requirements :

Qualifications & Experience :
Previous experience (3-5 years) in calculating, pricing, and quoting on planned projects
Experience in a similar environment – Bituminous binders, slurry, Colrub surfacing – well versed in calculating volumes, quantities highly desirable
Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous

Proven meticulous, accurate work
Very good planning, prioritising and scheduling ability to ensure on time submissions of quotes and tenders
A high level of customer orientation – demonstrating very good customer liaison
A ‘head and disposition for sales’ – must have initiative to understand the customer’s needs, and the ability to match needs to business opportunities for the Company during daily conversations with customers
High energy / stress tolerance
Own drivers licence, able to collect /drop off tender documents
Very good administrative skills – able to compile accurate and complete documents for tender submission
Structured manner of work
Self driven , independent functioning
