R&D Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:
Undertake Quality Control (QC) to ensure that products manufactured meet with Company quality standards and specifications,
Seeking approval of finished products within company standards and specifications,
Ability to record and communicate system problems to the Laboratory Manager,
Keep abreast of new technology options within the group and interact with current and new suppliers,
Prepare special samples in line with requests from sales and marketing,
Assist the factory when requested to do so, supervise trial batches when necessary,
Undertake R&D projects and upon completion do a Lab Test Report,
Ensure reports are completed and circulated to relevant personnel,
Develop, improve, or customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, or analytical methods,
Formulated special colours based on marketing requirements,
Maintain laboratory instruments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed
Provide training material (final products) for internal and external customers,
Provide technical support to internal staff and external customers,
Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods.
Handle customer queries and complaints and coordinate solutions,
Ensure that good house-keeping is practiced at all times,
Prepared to work overtime as and when required, and
Any other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time.

Maintain a healthy relationship with co-workers, subordinates, management and customers, this

Internal and external customer driven, to ensure customer satisfaction 90%, will be measured
through customer feedback,
Make available monthly report of ‘slow moving obsolete goods’,
Ensure housekeeping is kept in line with department policies and procedures, will be monitored
during department audits,
Adherence to internal controls and policies, e.g. Disciplinary Policy.
Customer satisfaction and 3 hour turnaround on technical queries,
Expanding of testing methods in line with product application through handling of technical service queries.
