QUALIFICATIONS:

Matric.
N3 Electronics qualification OR equivalent.
• Experience in diagnosing faults and repairs of electronic circuits.
• Experience in diagnosing faults and repairs to electromechanical devices.
• Interpret, read and draw circuit diagrams.
• Experience to design small electronic circuits.
Computer literate, experience with database and spreadsheet programs.
Understanding of logic systems and digital electronics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Installation of radio / electronic and electro-mechanical equipment.
• Installation of equipment on vehicles.
• Installation of equipment at depots.
- Maintenance of electronic and electro-mechanical equipment.
• Test equipment for correct operation as per set procedures.
• Check physical condition of equipment for damage or unacceptable wear and tear.
• Diagnose symptoms and cause of failure.
• Fault-find and repair all equipment down to component level.
• Complete required modifications as per procedure.
• Tests and checks on vehicles as required.
- Maintain required records & admin to manage condition, delivery & history of equipment.
• History logs.
• Delivery and dispatch notes.
• Ensure that required spares are available.
• Manufacture + assemble electronic devices
- Quality control
• Visual inspection of completed jobs.
• Final test before delivery.
- Responsibility
• Assume responsibility when manager is not available.
• Be available after hours if necessary.
• Liaise with other departments, suppliers and contractors.
• Make decisions affecting operation of the bus fleet.
