VACANCY: REGIONAL SALES MANAGER
REPORTS TO: NATIONAL SALES MANAGER
AREA: GAUTENG SOUTH


JOB OBJECTIVE To ensure that all Customer management negotiated activity is implemented regionally with precision through all direct and indirect front line Regional sales teams. The Regional role will also need to ensure that a picture of success is developed with your superior, for all outlet types to ensure the execution of the 5P’s (Product, Price, Placement, Promotional Material and Promotional Compliance) is aligned with Marketing and the Customer Management team. Responsibility will also be in the area of Customer Marketing and the management of all Point of Sales material, the distribution thereof, tracking of Regional implementation and ensuring minimum waste.

TASK DESCRIPTION
• Accomplishes regional sales human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orientating, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees in assigned territories, communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions, planning and reviewing compensation actions, enforcing policies and procedures.
• Achieves regional sales operational objectives by contributing regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans, resolving problems, identifying trends, determining regional sales system improvements, implementing change.
• Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances, initiating corrective actions.
• Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan for regional Sales Representatives, building and maintaining rapport with Key Account Customers, identifying new customer opportunities.
• Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota for districts in support of national objectives.
• Recommends product lines by identifying new customer opportunities, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
• Implements trade promotions by publishing, tracking, and evaluating trade spending. And ensures that all Marketing and Sales objectives and plans of action are executed timeously and efficiently, and reviewed for success
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks.
• Accomplishes sales and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum Educational requirement is Matric.
• Additionally a Tertiary Business Qualification of a Commercial Degree (id) B.Com or relevant Sales and Marketing Diploma (id). IMM would be an advantage.
• Core Competencies: Financial Acumen, Business Planning Skills, Influencing & Negotiation skills, good Communication skills, good administration abilities and Leadership ability
• Computer Literate in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook

KNOWLEDGE:
• 2 Years’ experience as a Senior Sales Representative
• An basic understanding of respective strategies
• Have a focus on return on investment (Incremental gross margin delivery)
• Basic understanding Category Management Principles
• Understanding of sales processes and commercial acumen
• Experience of managing pricing and promotions from a category perspective.
• Excel in service delivery to customers – OTIF (on time and in full)
• Proven negotiation & influencing skills/
• Planning and organizing skills
• Inter-personal and communication skills
• Problem/Solution approach to issue management & conflict resolution
• Able to lead & motivate internal and external teams • Drive cross functional team dynamics.
• Project management skills.

INDEPENDENT THINKING:
• Sound leadership skills and qualities are required due to the nature of the business with the ability to influence and negotiate with the trade at all levels.
• Position requires that the incumbent have a sound business sense, with an inherent desire to improve overall.
• Business performances ongoing through analysis and taking remedial action.
• Implement Regionally the Policies, parameters and protocols handed down, to govern the position; however allow sufficient authority for independent decision making, to ensure the successful operation of this function.
