Main purpose of the job
• To provide best practice data collection, clinical assessments, collection of specimens and care according to protocols and protocol comprehension.

Location
• Ethekwini Metro: (Mahatma Ghandi Hodspital, Newtown A Community Health Centre, Osindisweni Hospital)
• Ugu District: G J Crookes Hospital

Key performance areas
• Inform participants about the study.
• Screen potential participants and obtain informed consent according to SOPs.
• Administer study questionnaires / interviews.
• Conduct physical examinations.
• Provide appropriate health education and adherence counselling where necessary.
• Maintain full clinical records for all participants.
• Compile relevant reports and feedback on all activities.

Required minimum education and training

• Diploma in General Nursing (3 years).

Required minimum work experience

• Minimum 1-year nursing experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Research.

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities

• Diploma in Primary Health Care or similar will be an advantage.
• Candidates must be able to understand and communicate in Zulu and English
• Candidates must be able to start on the 01st of November 2017 for a period of three months
• Certification in good clinical practice.
• Experience in a research environment.
• Good administrative skills together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
