Kendrick Recruitment are looking for an experienced Reservations Manager for a small luxury lodge/hotel group based in South Africa and Tanzania.The position will be based in Ballito, KZN and candidates must have a 5* luxury reservations background. The ideal candidate must be well spoken and have a professional manner with a keen eye for detail.Requirements / Skills & Abilities:Extensive experience in hotel reservations with a proven track record in a similar role/position, preferably for a small hotel or lodge in the international luxury hospitality segment.Experience in yield and revenue management.Strong math skills as well as well-developed business sense and commercial awareness.Excellent interpersonal skills.Must be fluent in English and ideally one more language.Excellent written and oral communication skills.To be currently based in or nearby Ballito (can work from home until the new office is up and running).Knowledge of and experience in Opera, and preferably LEO.Self-motivator with the ability to work independently and as a team player.Clear thinker with great attention to detail.Able to work under pressure.Friendly and helpful attitude.Negotiating and persuasive skills.Ability to influence and build trust.Key Goals & ObjectivesTo manage the reservations department for the hotels and assist the sales team to maximise sales and earnings, as well as to optimise the yield management.To support and contribute to the delivery of the annual set revenue goals of the company.ResponsibilitiesLiaison with guests, travel agents and tour operators to communicate new rate plans and promotions.Liaison with guests, travel agents and tour operators to communicate the Company’s policies, to recommend flight and transfer arrangements, and to consult with the clients with regards to their accommodation requirements, dates, special requests and such.Daily liaison with the front office managers on each property in terms of arrivals, logistics etc.Daily liaison with and assistance of the sales and marketing team in setting the annual rates and promotions.Identifying of new distribution and revenue opportunities with the sales and marketing teams.Implementation and maintenance of reservations policies and procedures.Proactive management of the OTA / 3rd party relationships, as well as reporting on top producers.Daily pick-up analysis, as well as weekly and monthly reporting against targets.Embedding of a revenue management culture.Forecasting revenue streams and preparation of occupancy forecasts.Proactive revenue management on both properties to meet quarterly and annual targets.Active up-selling to maximise revenue opportunities through voice, web and online channels.Ensure website booking process is maintained, up-to-date and functional and web inquiries converted into bookings.Driving of customer loyalty with service excellence throughout the customer experience, from enquiry to check-out.Maintaining and monitoring the in-house reservations systems.Ensure accurate and detailed capturing of reservations, regularly checking the input and quality of data in the reservations system (which will be exported into Zoho Database Management).The salary on offer is R15,000 – R25,000 depending on experience.If you feel this is the position for you and you meet the above critieria please forward your CV to us today!!Due to high volumes of applications received, should you not receive correspondence from us within seven (7) working days of submitting your application, please consider your application for this position as unsuccessful.
