Melissa's The Food Shop is an up-market food company that requires an experienced Restaurant Manager to join our exclusive management team.
The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for the overall operational effectiveness of the Restaurant Department, this includes the kitchen and coffee bar. This position reports to the store Head Manager.The position requires the following credentials:
• Responsible for overall managerial & operational responsibility of the Restaurant Department.
• Achieving and maintaining the Restaurant Budgets incl. Sales, Waste & Food cost and the overall store profitability
• Achieve the budgets, sales targets and overall profitability of the restaurant department ( sales and expenses)
• Ensure all restaurant operating manuals are enforced and adherence to standard operating procedures (including menu’s, recipes, portion and production control)
• Execute restaurant training programmes and ensure effective training and development of all staff
• Maintain the morale of the staff
• Monitor standards of service and presentation
• Ensure the restaurant provides excellent first class service
• Maintain guest relations at a high standard
• Restaurant stock control including ordering, invoice processing and stock take
• Responsible for restaurant admin for example filing
• Restaurant staff development
• Ensure cleaning procedures are carried out and health and hygiene standards are complied with
Assume general managerial duties when on duty (MOD)
Assume duties and responsibilities of another manager when they are on leave
Knowledge of computer and computer based applications (POS)
Knowledgeable of equipment trouble shooting and calibration

• Matric, Certificate / Diploma & experience in point-of-sale software advantageous
• Proficient in MS office, specifically excel
• Shift work and weekend work is necessary
• Own driving licence & transport
