RS Recruitment Services is assisting a large FMCG company based in Durban to source
a Risk & Maintenance Controller. This is a BEE position.

Purpose of the position: To manage threats and mitigate the effects of those which are essentially unavoidable and ensuring the overall maintenance of the building and machinery/equipment in the warehouse.

Applicants should have/be the following:
Matriculation Certificate
Diploma in Risk Management or Safety Management – an advantage
Must have 2-3 years general maintenance experience
Must have 2-3 years Risk and Safety management experience
Preferably retail/fmcg experience
Excellent Computer Literacy – MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power point) and Outlook.
IR understanding and experience
Understand and apply Property Maintenance Planning and recording principles
Ability to plan and organise
Able to solve problems and take appropriate corrective action
Identify and solve problems by taking proactive measures
Make recommendations for improvements in company procedures
Knowledge of occupational health and safety and how it contributes to the goals of the company

Key Performance Areas-including but not limited to:
Ad Hoc duties - any reasonable task requested by management
Customer management - Build and maintain effective customer relations.
Risk and Safety management – Maintain health & safety standards in the warehouse
Risk Incident Processing – perform ‘Risk walkabouts’ to identify areas of risk
Safety Controls – complete fire checks, train staff on safety requirements, investigate incidents
Staff Management – Conduct staff meetings, encourage team to participate & adhere to quality standards
Machinery/Equipment Maintenance Control – Plan maintenance schedule as per manufacturing specifications
Property Maintenance Control – obtain quotations, evaluate & discuss repairs required, manage contractors

Remuneration:
Remuneration: Basic of R22k, depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
