Ruby on Rails developer : Salary R40k-R60k – depending on your experience.

A Fintech company that is disrupting the financial service industry throughout Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Zambia) is looking for Ruby on Rails developers. They are well funded $60m+ and are rapidly expanding. They give consumers in Africa access to financial products they would not normally have access to, all via their mobile phone.

Opportunities to travel – countries include Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia and Ghana.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience with Ruby on Rails or equivalent
• Knowledge / Experience with other programming languages like Java or Scala is a big +
• Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks like Angular, Ember, Meteor, Knockout, React
• In depth knowledge of Internet technologies and protocols (e.g. Web Servers, HTTP, Javascript, etc)
• Linux/Mac operating system development
• Strong desire to build, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
• Excellent written communication and verbal skills
• Understanding of basic financial concepts
• Ability to work independently but also with a strong team ethic
• Strong problem-solving ability
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred
