PURPOSE/SUMMARY

The Senior SAP Basis Analyst within the Information Technology department is responsible for the administration of the SAP environments. This role includes the support of SAP Basis functions and strategy around hardware, software, databases, and to work in collaboration with the Functional and Development Teams. The SAP Basis consultant will support all Basis activities including but not limited to; System Installations, System Change Management, Performance Tuning, Transport Management, System Administration & Monitoring, Troubleshooting, Problem Analysis and Deployment Strategy.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (key tasks required of the position which are essential to the performance of this position)

•SAP Basis administration and technical tasks including SAP software installation, upgrades, applying support packages, and installation of add-on software components.
•SAP profile parameter changes, workload analysis, system error analysis and establishment of standard SAP background jobs and system health checks and monitoring. Support daily operational activities related to the SAP environment including; object transports, setup/configuration, troubleshooting and error handling, performance/tuning, and problem determination/resolution.
•Impact analysis of new SAP releases to current system landscape environments.
•Design solutions, assist with projects and support production teams in deploying the solution.
•Analyze system performance, database performance, run system health checks and implement tuning improvements.
•Establish OSS and EarlyWatch connections where appropriate, participation in multi-landscape design solutions, architecture recommendations, and client strategies for continuous improvement.
•Maintain multi-landscape environments through client copies, system refreshes, and transport management.
•Document and educate others in the installation of ECC, BW, PI, EP, CRM, HCM and Solution Manager, including add-ons and upgrades, in a complex multi-system environment.
•Mentor/educate internal staff by training them on both strategic objectives and day-to-day operational support activities.
•Participate in technical projects working with multiple functional teams.
•Maintain consistent communication with department and functional areas within the company, while working on issues or projects.
•Assist Developers in diagnosing configuration changes and debug application errors.
•Understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, via e-mail or diagram form.
•Participate in planning and testing of new system hardware, software and development of system roll-out/implementation strategies.
•Prepare documentation that will assist in the maintenance of the systems.
•Complete in a timely manner any and all projects or tasks assigned.
•Be knowledgeable of all departments or groups SOPs.
•Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Experience Level:

Requirements:
•Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Business Computing a minimum of 5+ years of prior recent SAP Basis experience having advanced knowledge of ECC, BI, Solution Manager, PI, EP, J2EE, HCM.
•Must have experience in designing, installing, administrating, testing and on-going maintenance of SAP packages and patches.
•Installation, tuning, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of new and existing SAP systems.
•Analyzing system requirements, service patch administration, managing change requests, configuration of standard solutions, testing SAP administration functions of all major components of SAP, ECC, BI, EP, HCM, CRM, Solution manager and PI.
•Experience in SAP (ABAP+ JAVA) systems in virtualized environment.
•Experience in various SAP components installations and configurations.
•Ability to work independently.
•Extensive hands-on troubleshooting of SAP landscape and environment.
•Ability to translate the needs of an organization into a set of technical requirements based on the available technology.
