Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Leading the Seafreight team and managing all resources to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
Indent monitoring of orders placed with Suppliers.
Prepare shipment files - Registration of shipments in line with standard operation procedures.
Facilitate end to end Customs clearance and warehouse transfers of shipments.
Ensure Client daily status reports are kept up to date.
Liaising with Customers, shipping lines and Agents.
Updating of CIEL statuses:RM Update, Task Update, Job Notes.
Ensure Data Quality is up to date.
Resolving Queries and provide timeous feedback to update clients at all times.
Liaise with Finance and relevant teams to resolve account queries for customers.
Engage with overseas offices to ensure smooth shipments and query resolutions.
Obtain charges from shipping lines/other agents.
Ensure Cost Estimates and Cost accruals are done for invoicing.
Lodging of pro-forma claims to shipping lines and report all damages/discrepancies to relevant parties.
Maintain the company's Seafreight system to ensure visibility of shipments and status at all times.
Actively engaging with relevant Key Account Managers to ensure customer excellence.

Your skills and experience

Grade 12 (Matric) & Relevant degree / diploma will be an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years operational experience in freight forwarding / Seafreight environment in a senior capacity.
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role in the freight forwarding environment.
Self-disciplined and self-motivated to achieve targets.
Demonstrated capability to perform quality audit checks.
Excellent understanding of invoicing processes.
Ability to manage a team and actively share information with the team to yield better results.
Proven in-depth understanding of relevant statutory requirements for the Seafreight import and export markets.
Ability to prioritise and organise work to ensure objectives are achieved in a pressurised environment.
Must be a South African citizen or hold a relevant work permit for the country.
