Day To Day Responsibilities:
Together with the Marketing Manager and other key members of our team you will be responsible for executing and analysing their paid (PPC/Display), SEO and Affiliate strategies.
Above all, you will be expected to manage and implement their SEM campaigns effectively, work seamlessly in a distributed team environment and be a self starter —they favour simplicity over complexity, action over talk.
The Search Engine Marketing Specialist will work to audit the company's existing SEM, Affiliate and SEO activities and optimize the program’s existing strategies and tactics to meet their goals.
They are big on modern, common sense SEO strategy. The SEM Specialist will play a key role in implementation and analysis of this strategy including researching target keywords, providing on-page and off-page recommendations for technical SEO elements, site structure, on-page content optimizations, and linking best practices.
The Specialist will have deep knowledge of paid campaign management. They will plan, manage, and execute paid search/Pay Per Click (PPC) campaigns, including but not limited to account setup, strategy development, organization, and management.
Ongoing optimization efforts to meet campaign objectives, including daily management of campaign budgets, on-site conversion actions, bid management, negative keywords, website and category exclusions, ad creative, and landing page revisions based on performance targets and client objectives.
In addition to running their PPC and SEO functions, the SEM Specialist will also be tasked with managing the company’s affiliate platforms with a view to increasing conversions and bringing down cost per lead. The skills and experience required for this task are similar/identical to the PPC function. The products displayed on their affiliate platforms will mirror the website products and so provide an additional learning/experimentation opportunity.
The SEM Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Marketing Manager in analyzing campaign results for PPC, SEO and Affiliate platforms, solving problems, taking actions based upon analysis and building new search engine campaigns as we expand our content strategy.
Minimum 3 years of experience in SEM and/or other performance marketing roles with proven ROI strategies
Someone who has travelled and has an infectious passion for travel
In-depth understanding of the three pillars of SEO. (Technical, On-page, & Off-page) and an understanding of the “New” SEO and what the term means.
Experience managing large scale and/or complex paid search campaigns that drive qualified leads
Familiarity or willingness to dive deep into the workings and management of our Affiliate marketing campaigns
Superior analytical and reporting skills including experience with Adwords, Analytics, Bing Ads, Adroll and SEO tools (Moz, KWfinder, etc)
Daily use of reporting, analytics, and trend tools.
Forecast, plan, and work towards achieving company growth objectives.
Quickly and effectively structuring data within in Excel to provide insights and actionable takeaways.
Analyze trends and provide insights into KPIs for management team
Conduct keyword research and page mapping with an understanding that this will drive/compliment content strategy and marketing initiatives for the team
Analyze lead or sales performance data, rankings data, crawl logs, and site analysis tools to identify opportunities for search engine optimization. Communicate these recommendations to team in order to achieve the company’s goals.
Collaborate with other teams, to share insights on analytics, conversion rate optimization, creative, and paid search
