Purpose of the job

The Senior Accountant / Financial Manager is responsible for financial planning, forecasting and budgeting, assist with the development of a strategy for the implementation of accounting standards across the business in the Southern African Cluster and assist with the compiling of management reports. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring that Finance employees are adequately trained to perform their functions and are up to date with all relevant Financial Guidelines and company Standard Procedures.

EDUCATION
Matric
A relevant 3 year BCom degree or diploma or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification and must be a Registered Chartered Accountant

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
3 – 5 years general Accounting experience of which 2 years were in a senior position
Knowledge of Financial Management methodology
Experience in a Freight Forwarding environment will be a distinct advantage
Previous experience in dealing with VAT and income tax matters
Excellent communication skills
Attention to detail
Must be able to work under pressure
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Ability to work in a team
