Job Description:

To ensure supervision and timeous and accurate execution of the relevant accounting functions and related activities
To liaise with branches and departments in following up and resolving queries.
To liaise with auditors in order to resolve queries and handle requests.
To ensure that ALL reconciliations/reviews of accounts are accurate in order to ensure minimum financial losses to the company.
To ensure that VAT reconciliations and returns are done accurately and on time in order to avoid unnecessary penalties and monthly VAT reasonability.
To ensure monthly Management Accounts, Income Statement are accurate and up to date and distributed on time to relevant parties in order to assist in financial decision-making.
Assist with the quarterly preparation of forecast and yearly of branch budgets.
To prepare monthly Management Accounts, incl Flash reports and statistics.
Provision of bad debts and credit notes
To complete VAT review including VAT reasonability test and resolving variances, preparation of VAT recon and supporting documentation and submission of VAT returns.
Commissions (extracting data, updating pivots, checking information, consolidating for Payroll, balancing to bank, running macros, communication with companies & branches)
To prepare the Balance Sheet reconciliations and review all balance sheet reconciliations.
Audit work at year end
Assistance with Mozambique on Imports, Returns, Audit & Tax queries
To review balance sheet on a company level for all branches and companies
Debtors monthly balancing per company
To check that the values are correct on COD and vendor payments and then release payments all on requests.
To ensure that filing is accurate and done timeously and to perform related administrative tasks, to prepare annual tax schedules and provide reporting when necessary.
Supervision and coaching of accountant and providing guidance and assistance when necessary (incl review of accountant's output).

Qualifications:

Qualifications required: Financial Management Degree or similar, CA(SA)
2 years experience in similar role
SAP experience will be advantageous
Excel Advanced Level
