SENIOR ACTUARY ANALYST / SPECIALIST: Aggregate Analysis Team – Jhb, Gauteng

This position is most suitable for a newly qualified, nearly qualified, or senior actuarial student within Retail Actuarial Solutions. Focusing on delivering financial information and related insights and aggregate financial performance.
Experience in actuarial valuation (and related) processes and a willingness to liaise with and work with other business units, including business unit owners, market risk across the balance sheet, Group Finance and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
• Performing all the tasks typically required from an actuarial insights team, including interpreting, understanding, calculating and projecting value metrics relevant to the business (e.g. value of new business, liability values, embedded value, capital adequacy requirements, analysing sources of profit etc.).
• Participate in projects that involve engagement with various areas (actuarial and non-actuarial) within the business.
• Proactively identify areas where improvements in terms of accuracy and efficiency can be made to current processes.
• Assist in transition from current regulatory framework to a SAM regulatory environment.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the actuarial systems and models.
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge
• Newly qualified, nearly qualified, or senior actuarial student with at least 2 years working experience in a life insurance actuarial environment.
• Experience in financial analysis and interpretation, and knowledge of the relevant legislation, regulations and professional guidance of the Actuarial Society.
• The successful incumbent must have strong technical experience in Actuarial Science techniques, calculations and principles
• Knowledge of the Prophet actuarial modeling software, or similar software, would be an advantage
