Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant – Contract Position - Table View/Blouberg

Well established company is looking for an Accountant for a 5 month contract to complete the full bookkeeping function, from source documentation to Balance Sheet, accurately recording the day to day financial transactions of the organisation and maintaining these financial records. Key responsibilities of the Accountant are creating financial transactions and reports, reconciling accounts, ensuring incoming and outgoing funds are correctly accounted and safekeeping the financial records.

Type of Position: 5 Months Contract
Salary: R15 400.00pm

Minimum Requirement:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Accounting
• Accounting qualification e.g. Accounting Diploma
• Pastel Accounting, Pastel Payroll and Microsoft package
• Sound knowledge of financial legislation e.g. FICA
• Attention to detail / Deadline driven
• Ability to work independently
• Logical and flexible approach to solving problems, especially when working under pressure
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• A valid driver’s licence

Responsibilities:
• Bookkeeping to Balance Sheet
• Cashbook processing, including Bank Reconciliations
• Monitor cash flow between various bank accounts
• Accounts receivable / Accounts payable – reconciliations and payments
• Journal entries and General Ledger maintenance
• Petty cash processing and control
• Full Payroll function
• General liaison with SARS
• Fixed assets and depreciation processing
• Asset Register maintenance
• Monthly financial statements
• Assist Business Manager with annual budget preparation
