Position Purpose
The purpose of this is to ensure that Sales targets are met for the region. Lead and manage performance of Business Development Consultants ensuring that they have the necessary support and they meet their individual sales targets including mentoring and coaching
Continuously analyse the region to understand the client dynamics and requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities
Revenue Growth and Profitability
• Ensure that incoming business meets agreed target
• Ensure that incoming business is profitable business
• Ensure that the incoming business is compliant with FSB requirement and all necessary documentation is in place
Business Channels and Products
Ensure that the region has got the relevant skills to distribute products through the relevant channels:
• Corporate
• Trade Unions
• Lending institutions
• Local government
Products
Ensure the relevant products are marketed to the relevant distribution channels, by training the BDC
• Group Life
• Disability
• Credit Life
• Six Pack
• Dreaded Diseases
Business Retention
Retention of existing business and Organic Growth by offering clients add on products
Client Relations
Work with Marketing department to ensure successful ROI for Sales events and conferences involving clients where necessary
Manage client relations by ensuring monthly engagements with existing clients
Reporting
• Produce weekly activity reports
• Produce monthly sales reports
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Administration
• 8 years of Business Development experience in the Long term insurance industry 3 years
• Business Development/Sales training courses certificates
• Completed RE qualifications
