PACKAGE
3 Year contract (renewable)

Single contract for unmarried candidates, while Family contract offered for married candidates.

Generous Tax free BASIC salary offered according to experience. Salary paid in Qatari Riyals.

From 12 800- 23625 QAR per month. 23 625 QAR is +/- 8500 Australian Dollar basic salary.

Free fully furnished accommodation provided.

Transport allowance of 1250 QAR per month added to your basic salary.

Free "round trip" (to and from home country) flight tickets on joining, annual leave, and on repatriation. For those with family contract offered this will be also be applicable for your family (wife and up to 3 children up to 18 years old).

School allowance: 21 000 QAR (maximum) for up to 3 children (ages 5- 18) per child per academic year provided that they are studying in private schools in Doha.

40 days paid annual vacation days.

End of Service Award (at end of contract) which is one month's salary for each year worked.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree with a specialization in Neurophysiology

OR

Bachelor’s Degree in Science AND completion of a recognized training course in Neurophysiology which permits eligibility for board certification (ABRET or equivalent certification).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT: Minimum 18 months of accredited neurodiagnostic program essential.

EXPERIENCE:

10 years’ experience as a Neurophysiology technologist including 3 years with demonstrated proficiency in performing essential neurophysiology tests.

LICENSE:

Valid Primary License from the country of origin if applicable AND should be eligible for license in the State of Qatar within the Supreme Council of Health.

JOB SPECIFICATION
JOB SUMMARY:
The Neurophysiology Technologist is a trained and experienced electroencephalographic (EEG) technologist who performs electroencephalography and video EEG monitoring within the Neurophysiology Lab.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Implement basic infection control procedures to ensure compliance.
2. Care for the patient’s basic needs and clean patients after procedure.
3. Advise patients and family members on administered tests.
4. Maintain the confidentiality of all patient information when performing duties.
5. Prepare, present and disseminate information to colleagues, including physicians, nurses, and others members of the healthcare team.
6. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, and attending in-services, meetings and workshops
7. Employ basic office procedures and management techniques.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Obtain patient medical history, including neurologic symptomatology and medications.
2. Operate neurophysiology diagnostic equipment such as electromyographic, electoencephalographs, and evoked potential equipment to record the electrical activity of
the brain, cranial and central nervous system.
3. Perform cortical grid electrode cable mapping, montage programming and recording of Grid under the direction of the attending physician.
4. Assist the attending physician with cerebral cortex sensory motor strip area cases recordings.
5. Perform ambulatory EEG and digital video EEG recordings including neonatal, ICUs, and other related recordings.
6. Assess and document video EEG recordings.
7. Monitor and adjust equipment to ensure optimal recording procedures.
8. Report equipment problems and make minor adjustments and repairs of the equipment.
9. Enter various data into computer: verify data, make corrections and ensure accuracy, maintain a variety of patient logs, and archive EEG and video EEG data.
10. Prepare and maintain a variety of reports, and analyze and interpret reports as required.
11. Respond to medical emergencies such as convulsive seizures.
