Senior Credit Risk Analyst
Purpose: To contribute to the management of the company’s Credit Risk policies by providing information, analysis and technical support for the effective monitoring and control of risk exposure.
Report to the Head Product, Data and New Business, work alongside senior management.
Key Performance areas
• Review credit results and recommend changes to ensure they are in line with business risk and expectations.
• Actively review and change credit strategy
• Monitor and implement credit scoring
• Review and recommend updates to the risk strategy for both new and existing business
• Prepare and present a detailed monthly report on the status of the credit portfolio
• Work closely with the collections team to ensure that the best results are obtained
• Analyse and revise the NAEDO strategy
• Analyse and review scorecard performance and advise on changes
• Build application and response scorecards for financial services products
• Calculate score predictive strengths on sample data
• Make recommendations to the credit policy rules and score cut offs
• Build a MI reporting structure for financial services products
• Track and report on industry performance
• Work with large data sets and structures
• Involved with credit analysis across credit life cycle
• Preparation and presentation of credit analysis to Exco
• Analyse portfolio, including role rates and vintage analysis
• Responsible for provisioning model
Qualifications & Accreditation's
A numerate degree e.g. BCom, B Bus Sci, B Eng, BSc with focus on Statistics, IT, Economics, Mathematics
Experience & Skills
• A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within a similar environment
• Advanced computer literacy skills with high proficiency in MS Excel, Access, SAS, Qlikview
• The ability to integrate and interpret numerical and statistical information
• Experience in building Statistical/Analytical scorecards – essential
• Previous work experience within Loans, Cards, Mobile – Financial services essential
