Job Description:

Develop financial business plans aligned to the strategy of the organisation in collaboration with the actuarial valuations team and ensure that these are approved on Exco level.

Agree sales and manpower targets, aligned to the agreed financial business plans with the sales management team and finance team business partners, utilising models developed for this purpose.

Set expense budget guidelines for the business aligned to the financial business plans and including meeting agreed customer value targets and then support the business in developing appropriate budgets at cost-centre level in support of the overall targets together with the finance team business partners.

Ensure that sales remuneration is accurate in relation to the remuneration models for the various sales channels and management, that any differences are investigated and that planned savings are achieved.

Develop business cases for the various strategic initiatives at conceptual, design and build stage in collaboration with actuarial strategy support and the finance team business partners, support the business to ensure that appropriate assumptions underlying the business cases are accurate and achievable and convert the business case assumptions into ongoing targets once the business cases are in implementation.

Develop a suitable financial architecture in collaboration with the IT development team, product accounting team and the actuarial valuations team to ensure financial management requirements are met in the new operating model and allowing for the implementation of new generation client solutions.

Develop costing models that allocate expenses appropriately at product level in collaboration with the actuarial valuations team and product accounting team, allowing for the impact of operating model changes and new client solutions and support the business in suitable pricing of new client solutions.

Regular forecast of financial results relative to agreed plans in collaboration with the actuarial valuations team and recommend corrective actions where required, including expense management actions in collaboration with business heads and finance team business partners.

Management of a small team (+-2) of accounting specialists, including performance management and development.
