Vehicle business unit has an opening for a Senior Financial Analyst for its Truck division, based out of Kempton Park, Johannesburg. This role is responsible for the financial performance of the South African Vehicle plant, including analysis of forecasts and actual performance, business drivers and operational metrics. The Senior Financial Analyst provides technical competency to ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, legal requirements in both US and South African GAAP. This individual is responsible for process improvements within the plant, improve the internal control environment and provide increased transparency of financial results.

A key member of the plant leadership team and regional finance team.

The position reports directly to the Plant Manager Eaton Truck Components - South Africa and functionally to the Regional Controller, Vehicle Group, EMEA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop and coordinate plant profit plans, strategic plans, monthly forecasts, goals and objectives, financial reconciliations, reports and analysis for plant management, including variance analysis and cost control reporting and recommendations.

• Advise the Plant Manager, Eaton Truck Components, South Africa, on financial implications of operating strategies, cost control actions and decisions.

• Manage, analyze and interpret plant financial forecasts and operating results, whether related to P&L, working capital or cash management and advise plant leadership on results and actions.

• Interpret, implement and monitor corporate policies and procedures, ensure financials are reported in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and local statutory requirements.

• Develop and implement budgeting and financial reporting systems to provide timely and relevant information to plant, region, and corporate management and cost control.

• Ownership of account reconciliation process relating to all ledger accounts to maintain integrity of plant general ledger and its supporting sub-systems. Provide leadership and support for the Balance Sheet Review process.

• Establish and maintain a system of internal controls that safeguards company asset and provides for integrity and propriety of financial transactions and activities. Compliance with corporate policy, including SOX.

• Evaluate and approve plant capital appropriation requests prior to region and corporate management approval.

• Manages the deployment of cost saving programs to provide operating economies and improve profitability.

• Work with the South African Country Controller to ensure compliance with South African GAAP, statutory and fiscal requirements, as required.

• Provide leadership to ensure adequate cost accounting processes are in place, including standard cost updates, physical inventory verification, periodic cycle counts, etc.

• Lead ad hoc projects as required including appropriate ERP implementations and system upgrades, business development initiatives such as new business opportunities (and possibly financial review of development contracts) and appropriate revenue recognition and project accounting (as applicable).
