Position: Senior IT Engineer
Area: Midrand - Gauteng
Type: Permanent position
Salary: R40 000 – R50 000 CTC p/m neg on experience

Requirements
• 5 years’ IT working experience
• 3-5 years Network Experience
• Experience of network monitoring tools
• Advanced experience on FCAPS and related standards such as SNMP,WMI and syslog
• Advanced experience of TCP/IP (Packet tracing and Sniffing)
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.

Responsibilities
• Assist Operations Manager in mentoring teams
• Work with various clients & compile advanced client reports
• Interpret management systems information for improvement & risk
• Perform special investigation based on customer requirements
• Technical training & support of clients on management systems
• Consultation on "Information about IT" to improve IT environments.
• Resolution of technical problems.
• Independent task completion, report presentation & client recommendations
Testing:
• Release note of changes, new functions and bugs compiled.
• Request ticket updated according to status.
• System tested holistically.
• Implement patch/release/hot fix to client according to maintenance slot.
Audits and investigations:
• Audits planned and performed based on customer requirements.
• Feedback on findings provided to client/ analysis & interpretation to client
• Special investigations performed based on customer requirements.
• Feedback on findings provided to client/ Analysis and solutions
Operations:
• All requests logged and assigned via RT acted on and updated.
• Monitoring and configuration of business impact and other composite relationships.
Teamwork
• RT (ticketing system) maintained
• Mentor junior engineers and other technicians/ developers.
• Sound conflict management
• Monitoring of client infrastructure
• System administration tasks performed.
• Technical training and support of customers on management systems
