Job Purpose:
• The purpose of this job is to ensure that Communication lectures are offered to students, research is conducted on language related issues and that community engagement initiatives are undertaken for the benefit of students and communities.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• A Doctoral degree in Linguistics/Applied Linguistics/English Language Teaching
• A least four (4) years' lecturing experience in Communication Studies (English)/ Applied Linguistics/ English Language Teaching
• Supervision of post graduate students
• At least three (3) publications in accredited journals

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities:
• Teaching and learning - lecturing Communication Studies in English
• Curriculum and programme development
• Conduct research and publish academic articles in accredited academic journals nationally and internationally
• Academic administration, subject management
• Community engagement and service learning
• Staff and student mentorship
• Supervision of post graduate students
• Publish at least one (1) article per year
