You will be working in conjunction with the compliance division to identify, interpret and keep track of all insurance regulatory and supervisory requirements applicable to the company. Understanding, researching and providing specialist regulatory advise on all current developments arising in the industry.

• Developing structure, rigour and appropriate systems to facilitate the provision of quality commercial and insurance legal support to the business units within the company which will include but not limited to advising managment on the legality of insurance transactions, insurance contracts and intermediary contracts.
• Providing support services to control functions within the company
• Management of ad hoc legal services to business units  of the group
• Supervising, mentoring and supporting subordinates within the department in executing daily tasks
• Drafting, vetting, reviewing and negotiating of commercial agreements
• Litigation Management

Minimum Requirements:

• LLB
• Admitted Attorney
• 5-6 years relevant experience
• Experience both in private practice and corportate environment
• Indepth knowldge and understanding of the business functions, and operational processes within the insurance environment
• A fair understanding of the combined assurance model
• Conflict managment skills / strong problem sovling skills
• Communication skills (verbal & written) / good listening skills
