The role manages the development and research of technology and solutions for the company technology strategy. Ensures that company technology implementation follows sound technology management principles.

KEY AREAS
• Develop; maintain on a regular period the technology roadmap.
• Identify and manage technology that is common to all product and business streams.
• Ensure, through appropriate functions, that new development cost is justified.
• Seek consensus and approval of the technology roadmap.
• Ensure that technology policies and procedures are up to date is followed within the Technology Research Department.
• Manage Technology Research Department employees.
• Oversee the project management of technology projects to ensure that projects are managed according to best practices (PMBOK).
• Motivate for funding from internal and external sources.
• Keeping abreast of technology trends and influencing business stream technical department.
• Developing and implementing technology procedures and techniques.
• Helping senior management and internal clients to understand the results and implications of technology initiatives.
• Preparing and managing technology budget.
• Supervises the management of multiple projects.
• Develops proof-of-concept exercises to prove or disprove validity of proposed products.
• Creates and introduces new techniques that expedite or simplify the development process
• Arrange periodic technology and core capabilities symposiums

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Technical Qualification: MSc Eng Mechanical/Electrical with 5 years technology management experience or BSc with 8 years relevant experience.
